Lake Texoma sits about 75–90 miles north of Dallas, making it one of the most accessible large lake day trips from the DFW area.

From Dallas: Head north on US-75 toward Sherman/Denison. The southern Texas-side marinas (Highport Marina, Grandpappy Point, Eisenhower State Park) are just off US-75 near Pottsboro and Denison — roughly 75 miles from downtown Dallas.

From Fort Worth: Take I-35W north to US-380 east toward Denton, then head north on US-377 or US-75 toward Denison. Expect about 90 minutes depending on traffic.

From Frisco/Plano/McKinney: You're less than an hour from the lake via US-75 north — Lake Texoma is genuinely a quick weekday escape from the northern DFW suburbs.

Launch point: We coordinate directly with you on the launch location based on your group's origin point and the day's conditions. Common launch areas on the Texas side include Highport Marina (120 Texoma Harbor Dr, Pottsboro) and Grandpappy Point Marina (132 Grandpappy Drive, Denison). We'll confirm the exact meet-up spot when you book.

Lake Texoma's size and depth give it one of the longest comfortable boating seasons of any lake in the region:

Spring (March–May): Excellent conditions — warming water, manageable crowds, and the lake at some of its most beautiful. Spring winds can pick up in the afternoons, so morning charters on spring weekdays are ideal. One of the best times of year to book.

Summer (June–August): Peak season and peak crowds. Lake Texoma draws around 6 million visitors a year, and summer weekends reflect that. Book your charter date as early as possible. The lake is large enough that your captain can always find uncrowded water, but popular coves and beaches fill up fast. Weekday charters in summer are a great call if your schedule allows.

Fall (September–October): Arguably the best time for a charter on Texoma. Warm water through September, dramatically lighter crowds after Labor Day, and gorgeous fall light on the water in October. Highly recommended for groups who want the full lake experience without the summer traffic.

About 75 miles north of Dallas via US-75, which puts it roughly an hour to an hour and a half depending on your starting point and traffic. It's one of the fastest large-lake escapes from the DFW area.

Which side of the lake do you launch from?
We typically launch from the Texas side near Pottsboro and Denison, which offers the easiest access from DFW. When you book, we'll confirm the exact meet-up location and send directions.

How many people can come?

Can we stop at a beach or island?
Absolutely — beach and island stops are one of the highlights of a Texoma charter. We regularly anchor at North Island, Wood Island, and other sandy spots around the lake. Tell us what your group wants and we'll plan the day around it.

What's your cancellation policy?
Full refund for cancellations at least one week in advance. 50% refund for cancellations at least 48 hours in advance. Full refund if your captain determines weather conditions are unsafe on the day of the charter.

Can we bring food and drinks?
Yes. Pack a cooler with everything you want for the day — we're fully BYOB-friendly. Bring snacks, lunch, drinks, and whatever makes your group happy on the water.
